Study results analysis

On completion of training session, qualitative result of successfully carried out procedure, particularly in case of obvious success or misfortune, is immediately evident to the doctor as well as to the patient. In case of not evident result or for its qualitative evaluation you may use the following analysis means:

Signals view allows localizing cause of incorrect calculation of statistical indices, and if necessary, excluding artifactual sections from analysis.

Diagrams demonstrate CP (controlled parameter) change dynamics during the whole training session.

Diagrams are meant for tracing time dynamics of studied parameters in the form of graphs, cardiocycles numbers are singled out along their axis of abscisses, and along axis of ordinates – numerical values of selected TP. The selected parameters values, calculated with set time step, are used to construct diagrams at ECG-signal lack in montage configuration.

Histograms serve to combine statistical indices of test parameters at any 2 training stages.

Histograms panel is meant for statistical analysis of carried out procedure record. By stages or named fragments it allows:

  • building a histogram distribution;
  • combining histograms of controlled parameters distribution of different stages/fragments on the same graph;
  • looking through numeral values of statistical indices of test parameters in table form.

Spectrograms are meant for detection and evaluation of periodical components of analyzed processes and controlled parameters.

Spectral analysis is used to detect and evaluate periodical components of controlled parameters vibrations in the area of low frequencies (0,5-0,008 Hz). They look like periodically iterated waves, that is, several waves with definite frequency and amplitude. Contribution of every of these frequencies to analyzed process structure is evaluated with Fourier analysis, its result is construction of dependence graph of vibrations power and amplitude (along axis of ordinates) on vibrations period (along axis of abscisses). It is primarily used to analyze heart rate variability, however possibility of vibrations and other CP analysis is not eliminated. Spectrograms panel allows for stages and named fragments:

  • constructing spectrograms of controlled parameters;
  • combining spectrograms of controlled parameters of different stages;
  • viewing numeral values of spectral indexes of test parameters in table form.

Scattergram is used for heart rate analysis, but it may be used for cardio-cyclic presentation of cardiovascular system indices or presentation with set rate of any index.

Scattergram (the other names are correlated rhythmogram or sequential paired analysis) is traditionally used to analyze heart rate, but it may be used for cardio-cyclic presentation of cardiovascular system indices or presentation with set rate of any index.

Every current value of used index is singled out along X-axis, and the previous value – along Y-axis to build a scattergram. Thus some "cloud" of dots is formed by means of singling out. Scattergram in diagrammatic presentation is more convenient in compactness of the data and characteristic patterns, which allow immediately evaluating distribution and emissions of analyzed indices and iterated disorders.

Gradual dynamics analysis is meant for quantitative (tables, export files in the Excel format) and visual (graphs) evaluation of intraprocedure efficiency of stages of one biofeedback procedure. Evaluation is carried out considering statistical significance on the basis of dispersion indices: confidence limit, standard deviation, etc. Statistical parameters by any controlled indices, which may be selected or formed in calculated parameters list, are calculated during gradual dynamics in postreal time. Calculation is carried out considering study selected stages.

Course dynamics analysis by results of the whole rehabilitation course.

Course dynamics (CD) is used for quantitative evaluation of efficiency of all biofeedback procedures carried out: it allows visualizing trends of the patient’s state change during the whole rehabilitation course in table form as well as in graphic form.. You should open several studies (more than one), relating to the same rehabilitation course and obligatory containing three stages: "Initial background", "Training", "Final background", from the cardfile to analyze course dynamics of a specified patient. The last controlled stage of selected procedure, regardless of its name, is selected as "Training". Study is eliminated from analysis at lack of at least one of the enumerated stages. If duration of one of these three stages turns to be less that the one set on the Settings panel of biofeedback system, the study will also be eliminated.

Conclusion records significant CP deviations at selected stages in comparison with initial background.

Conclusion allows getting formal description of significant changes of selected controlled parameters during one procedure. Gradual parameters deviations, taken place in relation to selected basic stage (usually to initial background), are described. Parameter change of more than 3% (significance threshold may be changed) is considered to be significant.
